Light, warmth and vibration

Four LED colors, warm and cool care, sonic micro-vibration and a lifetime warranty: a closer look at Derma Veluxia Gold Pro, and what the research says.

A good at-home device does not replace your skincare. It turns your routine into a ritual you look forward to, and it makes the most of the formulas you already love. Derma Veluxia Gold Pro by Derma Tech brings four tools into one handheld device: LED light in four colors, warm and cool settings, sonic micro-vibration and dual gold-plated massage heads. Here is what each one does, what the published science says, and why we chose this device for our boutiques.

What is inside the device

According to Derma Tech, the device combines:8

  • Four LED colors: red, blue, yellow and green
  • Warm and cool modes, about 8°C to 42°C (about 46°F to 108°F); in warm mode, the warm gold heads deliver soothing infrared warmth alongside the red light
  • Sonic micro-vibrations, a gentle massage with its own button
  • Dual gold-plated massage heads that glide over the face, neck and jawline
  • Cordless, USB-C rechargeable, ergonomic handheld design
  • Derma Tech Lifetime Warranty when you register your device

Four buttons, On/Off, Sonic, Hot/Cold and LED, let you use each feature on its own or combine them. Suggested use: 2 to 3 times a week on cleansed skin, over a serum or moisturizer, following the session times in your manual.

Four LED colors, four moods

Each color has its own role in your ritual. You choose the color with the LED button.

  • Red: for a vibrant, healthy-looking glow. Red is the most studied color in skincare and the heart of most routines (see the research below).
  • Blue: for a clearer, smoother look. Blue light is popular in routines for blemish-prone and oily-looking skin.
  • Yellow: for skin that feels sensitive or tired. A gentle choice on days your skin feels overexposed or stressed.
  • Green: for a balanced, even-looking tone. A calming option when you want skin to look refreshed and more even.

Always follow the session times and instructions supplied with your device, and never look directly into the light.

Red light: what the research looks at

Dermatologists call the use of low-level red and near-infrared light photobiomodulation. A 2024 continuing-education review in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology describes it as a noninvasive approach with a favorable safety profile, used in-office and at home, and notes that more trials are needed to standardize recommendations.1

What have controlled studies found?

  • In a randomized, split-face, sham-controlled study of 76 adults, LED light used twice a week for four weeks was associated with measured improvements in the look of wrinkles and in skin elasticity compared with baseline.2
  • In a controlled trial of 136 volunteers, twice-weekly red and red-to-near-infrared light for 30 sessions improved skin complexion, skin feel and measured skin roughness compared with untreated controls.3

These studies used clinical devices with their own settings. We share them as background on why red light has become so popular in skincare, not as a promise of results from any one device. Derma Veluxia Gold Pro is offered for cosmetic use.

Warmth and cool: comfort with a purpose

The warm setting is the part most people fall in love with. The gold heads warm to about 42°C (about 108°F), a comforting warmth that helps facial tension melt away. Pair warm mode with red light and the warm gold heads deliver soothing infrared warmth while the light does its work. Warmth may also help your skincare do more: a scientific review found substantial evidence that higher skin temperature can increase how much of a topically applied product passes into the skin.4 That is why we suggest using the warm mode over a serum or cream.

The cool mode, down to about 8°C (about 46°F), gives a refreshing finish. It leaves skin feeling calm and pores looking refined, a lovely last step, especially in the morning.

More is not better with heat. Research on long, repeated heat and infrared exposure, such as strong sun, links it to changes associated with skin aging.5 Keep each session short, keep the device moving, and follow the timing in your manual.

Sonic micro-vibration: massage, modernized

What it is. The gold-plated heads vibrate to give a gentle massage as you glide them over the skin. Derma Tech calls it sonic micro-vibration, a gentle vibration that adds a relaxing massage sensation and complements your skincare routine.8 It is a mechanical massage, not an electrical one: Derma Tech lists no microcurrent or EMS function for this model. You switch it on with the Sonic button and can pair it with warm or cool mode and any LED color.

Why it feels good. Facial massage is one of the oldest beauty rituals, and research is starting to explain why:

  • In one study, five minutes with a facial massage roller increased skin blood flow in the massaged cheek for at least 10 minutes, and five weeks of daily use improved the skin's blood-vessel response to warmth.6
  • In a study by L'Oréal researchers, women who used a vibrating massage device with an anti-aging cream for eight weeks saw greater improvements in the look of wrinkles and texture than women who used the cream alone.7

These studies used other massage tools, so they show why massage is worth adding to a routine, not results for this device. Glide slowly over your serum or cream, in small upward circles, for a relaxed feel and a fresh, rosy look.

Why we chose Derma Veluxia Gold Pro

There are many light devices on the market. Here is how this one compares with the most common types.

Compared with full-face LED masks. A mask covers the whole face with light while you sit still. It is hands-free, but it rests over the skin and most masks offer light alone. Derma Veluxia Gold Pro is held in your hand and its gold heads touch the skin, so you can spend more time where you want it, such as the jawline, cheeks and neck. In the same session you also get warmth or cool and a gentle massage, and the gliding heads work your serum or cream into the skin.

Compared with devices without warmth. Light-only and vibration-only tools skip the warm step, the comforting part of the ritual that relaxes the face and helps your formulas feel richer.4 This device also has a cool mode for a refreshing finish, so one tool gives you both.

Compared with devices without vibration. Without vibration, a device is just light. The sonic massage adds the feel of a spa facial, and it pairs naturally with the creams you already use.6,7

A lifetime warranty. Many beauty devices come with a limited warranty, and when one stops working after it ends, the only option is to buy a new one. Derma Veluxia Gold Pro is backed by Derma Tech's Lifetime Warranty: register your device to enroll in the lifetime extended warranty program. Coverage is subject to Derma Tech's warranty terms and eligibility requirements.8,9

What to expect

  • Right away: skin feels warm, relaxed and refreshed, with a soft glow from the massage.
  • First few weeks: with 2 to 3 sessions a week, you may find your skin feels smoother and your creams feel more indulgent.
  • Over time: the ritual becomes part of your routine. Consistency matters more than intensity, so stick to 2 to 3 sessions a week.

A simple routine

  1. Cleanse and pat dry. Sweep on pH Balance Toner.
  2. Apply your cream. Around the eyes, try Intensive Recovery Eye Cream.
  3. Choose your LED color, turn on warm mode and Sonic, and glide upward and outward.
  4. Finish with cool mode for a calm, refreshed feel.
